S Aparna, Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Chemical and Fertilizers, delved into the policy landscape propelling the medical device sector forward. The newly sanctioned National Medical Device Policy, encompassing regulatory streamlining, infrastructural enhancement, research and development facilitation, human resource augmentation, and brand positioning, was unveiled. An intriguing highlight was the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, catalyzing domestic capacity expansion and the creation of 37 unique medical products.
